This project was not just about photographing food—it was about creating an atmosphere, a feeling of indulgence, and a reflection of the sophisticated yet inviting experience that Mesai offers. When the right light meets impeccable presentation, the result is imagery that encapsulates the soul of the establishment exactly as we envisioned.
One of the most fascinating aspects of this shoot was working with the architecture of the space itself. With mirrors adorning the venue, we carefully selected the hour of the day to make the most of the natural light. As the sun dipped lower, golden rays bounced off reflective surfaces, creating an ethereal glow that enhanced the textures and colors of the dishes. Instead of treating the mirrors as a challenge, we turned them into an advantage, using them to add depth, movement, and warmth to our visuals.
At the heart of the shoot was food presentation—an essential component in conveying the sense of luxury that Mesai embodies. Every plate was crafted with precision, and our job was to ensure that the photography and videography did justice to that attention to detail. To do this, we were intentional with our lens choices. Beyond just food, we wanted to tell the full story of an evening at Mesai. This meant incorporating cocktails into the shoot—not as an afterthought, but as an integral part of the dining experience. By including cocktails in the video, we subtly reminded the audience to indulge in a sweet treat or sip on a perfectly mixed drink as the evening evolves.
